300 Channels:

One can program a total of 300 channels: Private, Emergency channels and other banks have 100 programmable channels each. 7 pre-programmed Banks + Private Banks: Private, Emergency, Free , PMR, Aviation , Navy, CB AM and amateur radio band.

Frequency Range: 25-87MHz, 108-174MHz, 406-512MHz, 806-960MHz.

Close Call(TM)RF Capture Technology: Allows you to instantly store frequencies broadcast near you in memory, and see which frequency is being broadcast on. (Ideal if you do not know the frequency you are broadcasting on)

Frequency Steps: Auto 5 kHz, 6.25 kHz, 8.33 kHz(aviation band only), 10 KHz, 12.5 kHz.

Band Search: This scanner has 23 pre-set search bands. ("search" bands) You can search these bands to listen to your desired frequency.

Turbo Search: Increases the search speed to 180 steps per second. (Only for the bands with 5 kHz steps).

Frequency Skip: Allows you to disable channels/frequencies that are continuously transmitted on.

Possibility to set up Band-search / Service Scan and Close Call Search.

Memory Lock: You can lock your programmed channels so that you do not accidentally delete or overwrite them later.

Memory Back Up. There is a small backup battery inside (life span +/- 7 years or longer that ensures that everything in your scanner is remembered and stays that way.

- 108.0000 MHz - 136.9916 MHz = Aviation Band.

- 137.0000 MHz - 147.9937 = 2 Meter Amateur Band (in Europe up to 146 Mhz).

- 148.0000 MHz - 174.0000 = VHF Hoe Band.

- 406.0000 MHz - 512.0000 = UHF Band.

- 806.0000 MHz - 960.0000 = Public Service Band, cordless phones, GSM (encrypted).

The Uninden Bearcat UCB355CLT is handy radio scanner to build into cars.
Keep in mind that it is better to use an outdoor antenna for good reception.
In a car the reception of a radio scanner is much less due to the Faraday cage.
